Carole King在1971年以專輯「Tapestry」開啟創作女歌手的年代，此張專輯榮獲年度專輯、年度唱片("It's Too Late")、年度歌曲("You've Got A Friend")與最佳流行女歌手等4座葛萊美獎，專輯在全美專輯榜蟬連15週冠軍，累計的進榜週數超過300週，專輯在全球的累積銷量高達2500萬張，專輯在1998年入列「葛萊美名作殿堂」(Grammy Hall Of Fame)。

2012年4月，Carole King出版的回憶錄「A Natural Woman」進駐紐約時報暢銷書排行榜前十名，她在2013年獲得美國錄音學院頒發終身成就獎，同一年她從美國總統歐巴馬手中接下美國國會圖書館為流行歌曲所設立的蓋希文獎(The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song)。由她的生平故事與歌曲串連而成的音樂劇「Beautiful : The Carole King Musical」在2014年公演後成了紐約百老匯與倫敦西區劇場的熱門戲碼，音樂劇獲得兩座東尼獎的肯定，根據音樂劇拍攝的電影預計在2017年上映。Carole King在2015年獲頒表揚表演藝術成就的甘迺迪中心榮譽獎(The Kennedy Center Honors)
